Hot oil treatment for musculoskeletal complaints Analgesic medicated oil is placed in a well made of flour at the affected site and heated to a specific temperature to relax stiff muscles and open blocked nerve channels. The heat and pressure of the oil allows deeper absorption into the muscles, tendons and ligaments, relaxing spasms and reducing pain and stiffness. It concludes with a brief massage of the area of application.
